Global Mission Update 2019
2019 is slowly coming to a close. As we start planning our holiday parties, making plans with family, and checking off our gift lists, we’re reminded of how blessed this year has been. While we’re excited to close our laptops, pack our bags, and head home to fill our bellies and open gifts, we’re thinking of the thousands of children around the world that are praying to the simplest of needs like clean water and warm food.
PHOS is the greek word for light. For us, that translation means a lot of different things. For our clients, it means helping them stand out in their industries. For our team, it means making PHOS an amazing place to work. But it means a lot more at a 30,000-foot view. As a company, we’re committed to being a company that the world is better for and in so doing, exemplify the love of Jesus Christ. This is a much higher calling and encourages us to spread as much light, love, and mercy as humanly possible to the ones who need it.
We believe that our core values – everything we stand for – can go beyond the work we do and have a remarkable impact on the world. We’re committed to a global mission to see children rescued from poverty and slavery all around the world. We’re proud to partner with Compassion International to forward this mission.
Our Global Mission
Compassion International is a child-advocacy ministry that releases children from physical, spiritual, social, and economic poverty. Throughout the world, with the help of sponsors, they are changing the lives of children who have experienced true poverty.
These children live in some of the most dangerous, volatile regions throughout the world. Some are at risk of exploitation and abuse, while others are exposed to life-threatening diseases on a daily basis.
A release from poverty is literally a new lease on life for these children and their families.
In 2015, we sponsored our first child through Compassion International. This was the first time our company thought about PHOS as more than a web design and development company. We started to see how PHOS could act as a vehicle for making the world better. This is when we uncovered our greater purpose. Four years later and we are so humbled to say that we support seven children in seven different countries around the world.
Every few weeks, we receive letters from the children that we sponsor, learning more about their lives, their families, and their joys. Each time we open these letters, our team is reminded of the impact our day-to-day operations have on people from all over the world. We quickly add the letters to our Global Mission wall and never hesitate to tell our clients or visitors why the mission means so much to us.
How Our Team and Clients Have Embraced the Mission
When we rolled out this mission, we never imagined that our team members and our clients would pour so much of themselves into it. Last year was the first time that one of our very own clients was so inspired by the mission that they sponsored a child of their own, spreading the word about Compassion to their entire team and more. This meant so much to us and to this day has changed the way we think about how we can reach more people with this cause.
In 2019, three of our PHOS team members and their spouses personally sponsored children of their own through Compassion International. Collectively, this added four more children to our reach in 2019 and we could not be more moved by the community shown here.
What’s Next?
Knowing that PHOS is changing the fate of seven children around the globe fills out hearts with incalculable joy, but we’re not done yet. Our partnership with Compassion International continues to be a driving force for the work that we do each day. We have a large vision for this mission and pray that by 2025, we’ll over triple the number of children that PHOS supports.
It is through the efforts of our team members and our clients that we hope to continue blessing more children throughout the globe. To all of you who have been with us along the way, and to those of you who we have yet to meet, we thank you for your support and partnership. We could not do this without you.
Help Shine a Light
In this season of giving, if you feel inspired to rescue a child of your own, we encourage you to sponsor a child or making a one time gift.
